Jean Yawn, LCSW-C (they/them)

Hello,

I'm Jean and I provide counseling and psychotherapy to residents in Maryland.

People work with me for many different reasons whether it is to understand their relationships, navigate a recent loss, or to find solutions to manage symptoms that affect their physical and mental well-being. Sometimes they reach out, feeling misunderstood, anxious or stuck. The reasons can be complex and hard to talk about. As humans, we often want to live out our values, feel connection and work towards fulfillment, but sometimes life's pace doesn't give us the chance to sit with ourselves.

Beginning or continuing your journey with a therapist can provide that much needed space to discover more about who you are and where you want to go. It's important to work with a provider who both has professional experience with your concerns and that you personally feel is the right fit for you.

My clinical experiences and training include working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, grief, and personal challenges related to their identity. Many describe my approach to working with clients as calm, collaborative and creative.
